We have read this book so many times, that I just had to write more about it. The Author, Nan Forler told me, “I love hearing all the different interpretations of the book. I wrote it with the idea that the boy is possibly on the Autism Spectrum to show the beauty and exquisite details he sees. We decided to keep it open-ended for all different perspectives, but that was the intent in the unique and beautiful world he shares with Peaches.” I was telling her about how my 5 year old stops my reading, so that she can tell me how mean the kids taunting Trampoline Boy are. This is so important to me as a parent. I want my child to recognize bullying and let the bully know it is not okay. I want her to be kind to everyone, especially those that are different. No matter how you interpret this book, it is beautiful. The shape, colors, and design make it stand out, just like the lovely message.
