Emilienne Houselander has written the most beautiful book. I love everything about it. The book is illustrated by Dimity Gray. The illustrations are mostly black and white, with pops of lovely watercolor. It is a book that would even be a pretty gift for an adult.
Olivia is sitting alone after school. She spots a stone that is a color no one has ever seen before. Everyone was amazed by the magnificent color. She went to her mother's room to talk about what to name this color. Her mom is frail, because she is battling cancer. She decides to call the color, Hope! "A hope that this world has new things to discover. A hope they her mummy will quickly recover."
This book is perfect for opening up conversations about cancer. It is a great gift for any families dealing with the disease. Hope would be a wonderful classroom addition. Check out www.hopedreamlove.com .
