Yesterday was quite an adventure. When we go to Ozone Falls we usually stay up top and play in the creek. This time we decided to hike to the bottom. My four year old did this without injury, so you can do it with kids. It would be best if there is an adult in front and behind the child.
When we were almost to the bottom and my legs were starting to shake, I heard thunder. All of a sudden it was pouring. The good thing, is that when you get to the bottom there is an overhang from the waterfall. It was absolutely beautiful. The bad thing, is that we were climbing back up on slippery, muddy rock. This, I do not suggest doing with a four year old.
Places like this are one of the benefits of living in Tennessee. You can take a beautiful 30 minute drive and hike down to the base of a waterfall. My daughter will have memories of these wondrous outdoor experiences for the rest of her life.
