It's Goin' Down In History
Today was amazing! I have not seen anything, except for my daughter being born, that was so magnificent. We were outside as soon as the transition started. It seemed hotter that normal, but I think that was more the time of day. As I was constantly telling my daughter to put her glasses on, I thought about how it was good they closed schools. I was having trouble with one child. I can't imagine watching 20, or more.
As the sliver of sun started to get smaller, we started noticing, "weird," things happening. The shadows were all tiny slivers, just like what was left of the sun. Across the driveway, there appeared to be a moving wave of shadows. To me, it seemed like a shadow of the ocean moving. The crickets were going crazy!!! It was amazing to hear that sound in the afternoon. Just before the total eclipse the color outside was so cool. This would not show up in pictures. The whole experience was just something you had to see live, and I'm so glad I did!
